澄心 —Serene Heart—
この大変 貴重で美しい手漉き和紙（小津和紙）と向き合っていたとき、【澄心】 と言う言葉が私の心に浮かびました。
そんな言葉 あるのかしら？と 調べてみると、それは古来より禅の教えに伝わる言葉でした。
「澄心」とは、ただ心を清らかに澄ませるだけでなく、その結果として 物事の表層にとらわれず、本質を見極める境地を指しています。
「澄心得妙観（ちょうしん みょうかんをえる）」という禅の教えは、心を澄ませば、あらゆる現象を真理として正しく観ることができる、という意味を持ちます。
美しく澄んだ柔らかな和紙の風合いにのなかに、心を澄ませることから生まれる「真理を観る眼」を感じて表現いたしました。

This phrase arose in my heart while facing a unique piece of handmade washi paper (Ozu Washi).
Later, I discovered that it is in fact a Zen expression, cherished for centuries.
“Choushin” does not merely mean to have a pure or clear heart.
It points to a deeper state: when the heart is serene, one is no longer caught by appearances, but able to perceive the very essence of things.
In Zen, the saying “Chōshin toku myōkan” conveys this:
“When the heart is clear, one attains the wondrous vision that sees the truth beyond good or bad.”
This work embodies both the uniqueness of the washi and the quiet clarity through which the essence of reality is revealed.
